We visited Popeye Statue Trail in Chester, Illinois. Chester was the hometown for E. C. Segar, the creator of Popeye the Sailor Man cartoons. There are currently 17 statues related to Popeye series and we visited 10. After visiting the statues, we made the short drive to Evansville, Illinois to eat lunch at Waterstreet Bar and Grill. Waterstreet is a cool bar on the Kaskaskia River that frequently has live music. At the end of the day, we decided to cross the Mississippi River using the Saint Genevieve Ferry.
